I overwrote my Exodus wallet by restoring a different secret key. Are the old funds gone?
Possibly not, but this is time critical. When a different 12-word secret key is restored or synced, Exodus archives the previous wallet data rather than deleting it immediately. On desktop this archive is only retained for a limited period and uninstalling Exodus or formatting the device erases it permanently and immediately. If this describes your situation, stop using the device, do not reinstall or update Exodus and seek an assessment as soon as possible. Every additional action on the device reduces the chances of recovery.
I restored my wallet but the balance is empty. Have I lost my funds?
In most cases no. An empty balance after a restore is usually a display or configuration issue rather than an actual loss. Common causes are assets that are not enabled in the wallet, an incomplete sync, an outdated version of the app or funds held on a network that is not currently selected.
